SCERT Assam D.El.Ed Admission Notification 2026â2028 (PET-2026)
Online applications are hereby invited from eligible
candidates who are permanent residents of Assam to appear in the Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2026 for admission
into the 2 - Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course.
The D.El.Ed. course will be conducted in NCTE-recognized Teacher Education Institutes (DIET / CTE / Normal
School / BTC / Private TEIs) of Assam for the academic session 2026â2028.
đ What is SCERT D.El.Ed Assam?
SCERT D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education)
is a 2-year
full-time teacher training diploma conducted under the State Council of Educational Research &
Training
(SCERT), Assam. It prepares candidates for teaching at the primary and elementary level (Class I to
VIII).
The course is conducted in government Teacher Education Institutions (like DIETs, Normal Schools,
BTCs and
others) across Assam and is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

đ Career After D.El.Ed
After completing the diploma, candidates are eligible to apply for teaching jobs at the Primary and Upper Primary level in government, provincialized and private schools in Assam. The D.El.Ed qualification also helps in appearing for teacher eligibility tests and competitive exams.
đ Minimum Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (HS)/10 + 2 from a recognized Board or Council.
Minimum 50% marks in aggregate (excluding optional/extra/fourth subject)
SC / ST(P) / ST(H) candidates will get 5% relaxation in aggregate marks

PET-2026 will be conducted in the District selected by the candidate during online application
The exam venue details will be mentioned on the Admit Card
Seat allotment in Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) will be done within the same district chosen for PET
